Photosensitive: What the light leaves behind
What the light leaves behind presents a body of mixed-media photographic works created using alternative, light-reactive processes. Botanical anthotypes made with turmeric and plant-based emulsions sit alongside cyanotypes and pinhole photographs, each dependent on exposure, duration, and direct contact.
The imagery moves between organic and built environments of Florida’s Gulf Coast. Botanical sun prints register fragile impressions of flora, while pinhole photographs capture architectural forms and are presented on handmade ceramic tiles—introducing weight, surface, and permanence.
Drawing quietly from regional folktales and ecological memory, the work resists fixed narratives. Instead, materials themselves record what is revealed, altered, and left behind through light.
