  • About
Yvonne Christine is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and relentless experimenter with over two decades of experience in photography, ceramics, sculpture, and conceptual installation. Her practice explores the poetics of material, memory, and place—bridging ancestral craft and contemporary inquiry through a deep engagement with the natural world and the messy beauty of being human.

She earned her MFA in Creative Technologies and Practices from the University of South Alabama and currently teaches at the University of West Florida. Based in the Gulf South, Yvonne maintains a studio practice grounded in storytelling, transformation, and tactile exploration. She sees art as a form of communal memory and conversation—often working in collaboration with local landscapes, fellow artists, and the occasional neighbor who wanders over to ask what she’s up to.

Yvonne’s process is rarely still. She’s got her hands in a dozen projects at once—developing pinhole photographs, testing anthotypes, planning installations, foraging pigment, writing lesson plans, and making jelly from local plants. She thrives on movement, connection, and the kind of conversations that spiral from art to death to what’s for dinner and back again.

She’s a mother of two grown kids, a partner to a good man, and a forever student of plants, process, and the wild generosity of women. Her mission is to live a creative, gutsy, and intentional life that fosters connection, reflection, and growth—through art, and education. Her work is how she marks life: the transitions, the rituals, the questions we don’t have answers to yet, and the beauty found in ordinary scraps.

Yvonne loves:
  • long hikes that end above the clouds
  • found objects with stories
  • old film cameras and new obsessions
  • forest herbs and kitchen magic
  • laughing so hard she cries
  • and a good porch hang after a studio sprint
Right now, she’s working on a tarot deck and is deep in a series of pinhole landscapes across the Gulf South, and dreaming into a future project involving handmade paper and ancestral recipes.

If you want to talk about art, death, process, or your latest creative spiral, her door’s always open—or at least her inbox is.
